Ilric Shetland

Ilric is fascinated by the question of what occurs when changes are made in the scale of an image.

The starting point for one of his canvases can often be a small seemingly insignificant section on which he works to produce impressive and unforgettable landscapes which evoke associations with the 'American Sublime', movement in art.

His recent body of work includes magnificent seascapes which conve the power, drama and ever changing movement of the sea in Cornwall where he lives.
