Maggie Feeny

Maggie is inspired by wild landscapes and moody skies. Whilst her paintings are created in the studio, they spring from her recollection of being out there in the rural landscape,feeling the energy of changing weather patterns, evoking sensations of freedom and abandonment.  She feels a constant desire to recreate the atmosphere and drama of these scenes and in their creation fulfils a certain fantasy.  The painting becomes a vision of a world beyond her own home; an interpretation of something hoped for, that she could possibly step into.

Maggie works on wood and canvas, using many layers of acrylic paint into which she scratches and  over which she dribbles thin glazes, achieving very textured, multi faceted paintings.
